Lokev is a settlement in the municipality of Sežana in the Littoral region of Slovenia, close to the border with Italy.[2]
The area was frequently raided by the Ottomans in the 15th and 16th centuries and the locals built a defense tower in 1487, known as Tabor. It has become a symbol of Loka and now houses a military museum.[3]
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Michael and belongs to the Diocese of Koper.[4] Vilenica Cave, the oldest show cave in Europe, is near Lokev.
